Spicy Margarita: A Kick with Your Tequila

For those who love a little heat with their cocktails, the Spicy Margarita is a game-changer. The balance of smoky, zesty, and spicy flavours makes this margarita one of my absolute favourites when I'm craving something with a little more punch.

Ingredients

What you need:

• 2 oz tequila (I prefer a good reposado)
• 1 oz lime juice (freshly squeezed)
• 1/2 oz triple sec (or any orange liqueur)
• 1/2 oz agave syrup (optional, adjust to sweetness preference)
• 2-3 slices jalapeño (more if you like it extra spicy)
• Salt or Tajin for the rim (optional)
• Lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

1. If you like, rim your glass with salt or Tajin by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into the seasoning.
2. In a shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices with lime juice and agave syrup (if using).
3. Add the tequila, triple sec, and some ice to the shaker, and shake vigorously.
4. Strain into an ice-filled glass.
5. Garnish with a lime wedge and a slice of jalapeño.
