My Cutesy Room Makeover: Transforming My Space into a Dreamy Oasis!

Hey everyone!  So, I’ve been dreaming about giving my room a makeover for months now, and finally, I decided to turn those dreams into reality! My room was a little... boring, honestly. It had a lot of mismatched furniture, and too many old posters, and just didn’t feel like me anymore. I was ready for a cute, cozy space where I could relax, hang out with my friends, and just vibe out.

Here’s how I transformed my room into the ultimate cutesy haven—let me take you through my process!

1. Colour Scheme: Soft Pastels and Dreamy Vibes

First things first—let’s talk colour! I knew I wanted my room to feel soft, calm, and girly, so I went with a pastel colour scheme. Think light pinks, lavender, and baby blue with pops of white! I painted one wall a soft pink, and the other walls stayed white. It makes the room feel fresh and airy, and honestly, I love how cozy it looks! I also added some string lights to make it extra dreamy at night (because who doesn’t want a room that looks like a fairy tale?)

2. Furniture: Mixing Old with New

Next up, furniture! I’ll keep some of my old furniture but give them a fresh twist. For example, I’ll repaint my dresser drawers with pastel pink and white stripes (how cute, right?). I will also swap out my old desk chair for a comfy one that has fluffy faux fur on the seat (so cozy and comfy for sitting at my desk to do homework or just chill).

I also got a super cute white vanity mirror with lights around it so I can get ready in style (plus, it’s great for taking selfies).

3. Wall Decor: Aesthetic Posters and Custom Wall Art

Okay, I’m OBSESSED with posters, and I wanted to make sure my walls reflected my style! I also printed out some of my favourite pictures with friends, and a few aesthetic pictures of the beach and sunsets (I’m all about that warm, relaxing aesthetic). I even made a small gallery wall of my favourite TikTok influencers and music posters.

And don’t forget the wall decals—I found the cutest pastel star and moon decals that I put above my bed. Every time I look up, I feel like I’m sleeping under the stars.

4. Bedding: Cozy and Colourful

I got new bedding that matches my colour scheme perfectly—pink sheets with fluffy white clouds, a soft lavender duvet, and matching throw pillows! There’s also a big plushie pillow in the shape of a heart, and it’s so soft that I can’t resist hugging it every time I’m in bed. I love curling up with my pillows and watching my favourite shows or reading books. Plus, I added a soft throw blanket for extra coziness when it’s cold outside.

5. Lighting: Twinkle Lights and Neon Signs

One of my favourite parts of my room makeover has to be the lighting. I bought a set of twinkling fairy lights that I draped around the top of my bedframe, and they make everything look magical! I also got a pink neon “Brooklynn” sign (Thanks Auntie Sue! It's just the right amount of extra). At night, my room looks like a cozy little wonderland.

6. DIY Crafts and Personal Touches

To make my room extra special, I decided to get creative and add some DIY crafts. I painted some cute little ceramic animals (like bunnies and cats) and placed them on my shelves. I also made a dreamcatcher from string, beads, and feathers, and it hangs above my bed for some good dreams!

Lastly, I got a cute little plant to put on my windowsill. It’s fake (because I don’t have a green thumb at all) but still adds a fresh, nature-y vibe to the space!

7. Cozy Corner for Hanging Out

Since I love having friends over and just hanging out, I created a cozy little corner with a bean bag chair, a cute floor rug, and a teddy bear (because who doesn’t need a teddy bear, right?). It’s perfect for chatting, playing games, or just lounging around. My friends love it!
